When it comes to dinner, one night of the week that our entire family loves is Taco Tuesday! You can't go wrong when you combine meat, cheese, tortillas, chips, and salsa! We usually have some variation of tacos at least once a week since it's so easy to prepare and everyone enjoys it. Today I'm sharing ten of our family's favorite recipes for Taco Tuesday meals.

Fajita Style Tacos

One of my favorite ways to eat tacos is fajita style. We love to slice up a ton of meat and veggies and grill it on the bar-b-que pit or the cajun hibachi grill. Everyone can then assemble their tacos how they like them. The best part is there are usually tons of leftovers for lunches throughout the week.

Nachos

Another fun and easy twist to your typical taco night is making nachos. We line a baking tray with tortilla chips and top them with any toppings we desire. For the kids that might be just cheese and ground beef. For the adults, we pile it all on. I love that it is so easy to customize this meal to anyone’s liking. Just stick the tray in the oven and cook until the cheese is melted, and you’ve got a yummy meal.

Taco Soup

In the wintertime especially, we love eating taco soup. My go-to recipe is a variation of this one. The best part about this recipe is that it’s a crockpot meal that can be made in advance and frozen. These are my favorite meals for busy weeks at work or nights when I’m too tired to cook.

7 Layer Taco Dip

7 layer taco dip is my go-to for parties and small get-togethers. It’s so easy to make, and it’s always a crowd-pleaser. You can honestly layer whichever taco toppings you like, but I typically do the following: bean dip or refried beans, sour cream (mixed with one packet of taco seasoning), guacamole, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, green onions, and black olives.

In full disclosure, I usually leave off the black olives making mine more of a 6-layer dip, but to each his own.

Shredded Salsa Chicken Tacos

If you love chicken tacos then you will certainly enjoy this super easy crockpot shredded chicken taco recipe. To make this all you need are chicken breast, taco seasoning (either homemade or packaged), and a jar of salsa.

Combine all the ingredients and cook on high for eight hours or low for four hours. The chicken will easily shred when finished and you can use it on your tacos.

Taco Pizza

My love for taco pizza goes way back. My hometown of Thibodaux, Louisiana has what the residents would claim “the best pizza around.” West Main Pizza is known for its taco pizza. It’s my favorite, and to this day I get it every year for my birthday. While I have tried to recreate it at home, nothing beats the real thing.

Breakfast Taco Scramble

Who says Taco Tuesday is reserved for dinner only? I have done a variation of this breakfast taco scramble many mornings. I usually like to do it with leftovers from the previous night’s meal, and it is delicious.

Walking Tacos

Walking tacos are a family favorite. They are especially great for those busy “eat on the run” kinds of nights. The best part is there is minimal cleanup. All you need are individual bags of your favorite type of taco chip (we like Doritos). Simply load the bag with all of your favorite taco toppings (meat, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, etc.) and you are good to go!

Taco Salad

I love this option for weeks when I am trying to eat healthily and want to skip the extra carbs (although sometimes I still use a whole wheat tortilla!)

Taco Casserole

Out of all these Taco Tuesday ideas, this taco casserole recipe is the only one that I haven’t actually tried. It’s been on my Pinterest board for a while now, but I just haven’t made it yet. It looks amazing though so I think I’ll add this to next week’s meal plan.
