I got great feedback in August when I posted my monthly meal plan, so I’ve decided to keep it going. I know I am always searching for new ideas for recipes to cook my family. I hope this is helpful for some of you. Today I’m sharing my monthly meal plan from September.
If you follow me on Instagram, I usually post our meal plan at the beginning of each week. Sometimes things don’t go according to “plan” and we end up moving meals around or scratching them altogether. The meal plan below is what we ACTUALLY ended up eating.
I like to keep record of this to look back on for ideas. I also like to make sure I’m not cooking the same things month after month.
We did a GREAT job sticking to our September grocery budget. You can check out my video on YouTube for the grocery hauls and a breakdown of what we spent each week on groceries.
September Meals (with links to recipes)
9/1- Red Beans (my mother-in-laws’ recipe)
9/3- Buffalo Chicken Pasta (I used a modified version of this recipe, omitting the blue cheese)
9/4- Taco Salad (so easy- just brown and season the meat and serve over lettuce with any taco toppings you like)
9/5- YOYO (You’re On You’re Own)
9/6- Grilled steak, veggies, and salad
9/7- Shishkabobs (we love cooking shishkabobs because the possibilities are endless on how to fix them)
9/8- Chia Flax Chicken Fingers (this healthy spin on chicken tenders might sound gross, but trust me they are amazing!)
9/9- Butternut Squash Chili (I used a version of this recipe)
9/11- Pizza Roll-Ups (the kids especially love this variation to pizza night)
9/12- Takeout: Burgersmith
9/13- Spaghetti (my dad’s recipe that I will be sharing soon!)
9/16- Tomato Basil Artichoke Baked Chicken (this was my first time cooking this, and we didn’t care for it- if I made it again I would put less artichoke)
9/17- Sausage, peppers, and onions (we make this all the time since we have a freezer full of deer sausage)
9/19- Date Night
9/20- Gumbo (another recipe from my dad- This one is actually documented in my saved highlight reel on Instagram)
9/22- Pork Chops (I usually use a super easy recipe like this one. I also buy a pork loin and cut the meat to our desired thickness to save money)
9/24- Out of town visiting my parents
9/25- Sausage, peppers, and onions
9/26- Jambalaya (made by my dad)
9/27- Stuffed Bell Peppers (I use a recipe similar to this, only I substitute regular rice for cauliflower rice)
9/29- Crockpot Taco Soup (you also check out these crockpot meals)
9/30- Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Let me know in the comments below what meals you’ve been loving lately. Also, if you try any of these out, be sure to tag me on Instagram. Thanks for reading! XOXO
