Summer is right around the corner. We are headed to the beach in a few weeks, and I cannot wait! It’s around this time of year when I usually don’t wear a ton of makeup or use a ton of products. However, there are a few tried and true favorites that I consider summer staples. Today I’m sharing my 10 favorite summer beauty essentials.

As I have gotten older I realize the importance of taking care of my skin. Along with this comes staying out of the sun as much as possible. I don’t want to sacrifice a tan though, so good self tanner is a must. My two favorites are Loving Tan and St. Tropez which I have used for years. I also really like Jergens Natural Glow for everyday upkeep. Also, this application kit from Amazon is perfect for all your self tanning needs.

Keeping with the bronzed skin theme, this Channel bronzer is my favorite for summer. It is on the pricey side, but I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and it’s still going strong.

My favorite summer perfume is Beach by Bobbi Brown. I just love the refreshing scent and every time I wear it I’m instantly transported to my happy place at the beach.

I rarely take the time to do my hair in the hot summer months. Instead, I take advantage of my natural waves. My favorite sprays to use are the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and the Oribe Wave and Shine Spray. I also love the Dry Texturizing Spray by Oribe.

A tinted lip gloss is the perfect way to complete any minimal makeup look in the summer. It’s so easy to just throw on and go. A few of my favorites are this one by Nars, the NYX Butter Gloss and this one by Buxom in the color White Russian.

Whether I’m going out to dinner or hanging by the pool, I always feel better with a little shimmer or highlight. I have tons of powder highlights that I love, but my go-to for summer is the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops.

My makeup is pretty minimal in the summer since it is so hot and humid. I typically stick with a few of the basics:

I always start with the It Cosmetics CC Cream because it is light but provides excellent coverage and extra SPF.

For my eyes I usually keep it simple with these caviar sticks for my lids and some waterproof mascara. My favorites are this one and this one.

Finally, I always finish off my look with this setting spray which helps to keep my makeup in place all day, even in this South Louisiana heat.
